Mother Nature’s Snow = Muddy Smiles Adventure
I really wanted to get back on the mountain bike and enjoy the forest. Mother Nature provided the snow, so I contributed extra clothing and a big muddy smile to make the day’s adventure.
I was on the bike for 3.5 hours traversing deep puddles, 4” of snow in areas and slipping down the fun and muddy trails. I kept the bike upright and took it easy for the most part. I wanted to get some good hard leg work, so I targeted a couple Strava KOM segments and was able to achieve two! One had a downed log I had to get off the bike. I think a little faster time is in the near future
It was a wonderful and calm mountain biking day happening upon friends on the trail, cold hands and feet, muddy face and teeth, big smiles and tired legs.
Lots of clean up is required after a ride like that, but it is worth the full body relaxation of a day given to a happy heart and tired body.
I was lucky enough to take Cole to dinner at Pastini’s for his birthday and catch up on each other’s lives while gorging our faces with pasta, meat, wine and bread. Gotta love Italian food!!!
